Resident Celebrates 90th Birthday with Road Trip
Kansas City or Bust!
When asked by her family how she would like to celebrate her 90th birthday, Shepherd’s Crossing resident Barbara Foley had a big idea. She wanted to combine two of her favorite things – her love of watching Kansas City Chiefs football and her beloved friendships with her neighbors at Shepherd’s Crossing. On August 17, Barb and 17 of her neighbors boarded a charter bus and headed to Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs play the Detroit Lions!
Decked in their best Chiefs fan gear, the group made the journey in style to Kansas City and enjoyed watching the game from a private, climate-controlled suite. They had plenty of game time snacks and even got a visit from the Chief’s mascot, KC Wolf!
In true Barb fashion, when it came to celebrating her big day, she wanted the celebration to be not just about her – but to bring joy to her family and friends, too. Based on the smiles and laughter seen and heard at the game, it looks like her birthday wish came true!
